Damen Shipyard And Curaçao Dry Dock Start A New Future Together

Wednesday, February 1, 2017, will be remembered as the date on which the Curaçao Drydock Company (CDM) began a new future. On that day Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) took over the responsibility for the operational activities of the Dokmaatschappij. This happened during a solemn ceremony in the presence of guests and employees of the CDM.

The multi-year partnership between the Curaçao government and Damen gives this private partner a good opportunity to help the CDM, after thirty years, to flourish again. This partnership offers, besides many direct benefits for the CDM, current workers and youth, the chance for Curaçao to tap into new maritime markets in the future such as the repair and conversion of cruise ships and (probably also mega) yachts.
